Especially on fanfiction – though I respect the people writing and reading it, I just wasn’t ever able to see the point. For me, if the author hasn’t written it, and especially if he/she doesn’t approve it, it didn’t happen. Period. It’s part of what makes reading so great, the absolute and absurd feeling that the fictional characters really do exist somehow, and you can’t just decide to shape them the way you like them best. It would take the magic away if anyone could just type in a few words and take control over these sacred and beloved characters. Now your French fan is flooding you blog with comments ^^ Sorry about that, but you helped me realize something I haven’t really been able to put in words until now. Yay !
